Azon uses "Green Technology" with building renovation for new World head quarters.
KALAMAZOO -- The new world headquarters offices of Azon USA Inc. formally opened its doors in a ribbon-cutting ceremony June 24. An extensive one-year renovation of a former IBM building, a landmark structure, built in 1962 in the international architecture style, also includes major site work with the goal of retaining the character of the building.
Materials and methods used in the construction process were aimed at reducing energy consumption, an approach that makes an environmentally sustainable structure. New windows used to replace the original units are architectural grade aluminum frames that incorporate Azon's thermal barrier technology. Glazing used in the windows is high performance energy glass, fabricated with Azons Warm-Light structural thermal barrier air spacer. Other Improvements with lighting, heating and cooling are expected to save energy costs by 30-40 percent annually.
The new facility located on Crosstown Parkway, in Kalamazoo adds nearly 19,000 square feet of administrative space for the corporate world headquarters. Azon also has manufacturing facilities in Kalamazoo Township. Azon USA Inc., an ESOP company was established in 1977 in Kalamazoo, is a worldwide supplier of energy saving products for the glass and architectural window industry.
